Sindoor: Over 100 Terrorists Eliminated; Turkish Drones Used in Pakistan's Retaliation
New Delhi, May 15, 2025 — India's Operation Sindoor, launched in response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack that claimed 26 civilian lives, has resulted in the elimination of over 100 terrorists and significant damage to Pakistani military infrastructure.
The Indian Air Force (IAF) executed precision strikes on nine terrorist camps located in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), targeting high-value assets and leadership figures. Among those killed was Abdul Rauf Azhar, a top commander of Jaish-e-Mohammed and brother of its founder, Masood Azhar.
In retaliation, Pakistan launched a coordinated drone and missile attack on May 8, targeting 36 locations across India. The Indian Ministry of External Affairs reported that Pakistan deployed approximately 400 drones, including Turkish-made Asisguard Songar models, in the assault. India's integrated air defense systems successfully intercepted and neutralized these threats, preventing significant damage.
The use of Turkish drones by Pakistan has raised concerns about Turkey's involvement in the conflict. While there are reports suggesting the presence of Turkish operatives in Pakistan during the attacks, official confirmation from either government is pending.
India's Operation Sindoor underscores the nation's commitment to countering terrorism and protecting its sovereignty. The operation also highlights the effectiveness of India's indigenous defense capabilities in neutralizing advanced threats.
