DUSU Election 2025 Live: Counting Begins Amid Tight Security

New Delhi, September 19, 2025 — The counting of votes for the Delhi University Students’ Union (DUSU) Election 2025 has started this morning at 8:00 AM in the Multipurpose Hall at North Campus, with heightened security in place to ensure a smooth process.

This year’s election saw participation from over 2.75 lakh eligible voters spread across more than 50 colleges, but the final turnout hovered around 39–40%.

Security has been significantly tightened on campus, with over 600 personnel, including officers equipped with body cameras, drones, and CCTV surveillance, deployed to monitor key polling and counting venues.

The main contest this year is largely between Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), the National Students’ Union of India (NSUI), and the SFI-AISA Left Alliance.

While full results are pending, Delhi High Court has barred victory processions to avoid any unrest once the winners are declared.

Aryan Maan (ABVP) — Running for DUSU President from Hansraj College / Library Science postgraduate program

Joslyn Nandita Choudhary (NSUI) — Postgraduate student of Buddhist Studies, leading the Congress-affiliated student wing

Anjali (SFI-AISA) — Indraprastha College for Women student, representing the Left Alliance
