Tesla Launches ₹62 Lakh SUV in India, Plans China-like Supercharger Network in Cities Like Jaipur and Pune

Tesla has strengthened its presence in India with the launch of a new premium electric SUV, while also outlining plans to expand its charging infrastructure across major cities.

According to recent developments, the company has introduced the six-seater Model Y L electric SUV at an ex-showroom price of around ₹61.99 lakh. The vehicle is designed for family buyers and offers a long driving range of up to 681 km on a single charge, along with advanced features and fast acceleration.

Alongside the launch, Tesla is focusing heavily on building its ecosystem in India. The company is working on expanding its Supercharger network and service infrastructure to support growing demand for electric vehicles.

As part of this expansion, new charging stations are planned along key routes connecting major cities such as Delhi, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, and Pune. This move is expected to gradually create a network similar to Tesla’s extensive Supercharger system in China.

Currently, Tesla operates a limited number of Supercharger stations in India but aims to scale rapidly to improve long-distance EV travel and ownership experience.

The company is also expanding its service centers and experience hubs in cities like Mumbai, Delhi, and Pune, with more locations planned in the near future.

With this strategy, Tesla is not only targeting premium SUV buyers but also laying the groundwork for a broader electric mobility ecosystem in India.
