Rajasthan Stone Crushers Postpone 19-Day Strike After Talks with Government
Jaipur, Rajasthan | August 20, 2025 — After discussions with the state government, the 19-day strike by the Rajasthan Stone Crusher Association and the Rajasthan Small Mines Lease Holder Association has been postponed. The strike, which began on August 2, was initially called in protest against what the associations described as “repressive” policies, administrative hurdles, and impractical government rules.
Talks with the Government
According to Yogesh Katara, President of the Rajasthan Stone Crusher Association, committees of the mining department and traders were formed three days ago under government direction to discuss the demands. While most demands were agreed upon during these discussions, the issue of the drone survey remains unresolved.
“The government has assured that a solution will be found soon. We have given them two and a half months to act on the demands. The strike will be fully called off only if action is taken within this period. Otherwise, the strike will resume. Our strike also received support from other industrial organizations,” Katara said.
Economic Impact
The strike has reportedly affected businesses worth approximately ₹1,500 crore to ₹2,000 crore, highlighting the significant economic impact on the state’s mining and construction sectors.
Background
The strike was initiated to protest policies and regulations that the associations considered restrictive and impractical. By postponing the strike, both the government and the associations aim to resolve the issues through dialogue and administrative action, ensuring the sector’s smooth functioning while addressing the grievances of the traders and leaseholders.
