England’s star batter Joe Root created history in the 4th Test against India at Old Trafford by scoring a sublime 150 runs.

With this century, Root surpassed legendary Australian batter Ricky Ponting to become the second-highest run-scorer in Test cricket history, now trailing only Sachin Tendulkar. His innings not only marked a personal milestone but also helped England gain complete control of the match, ending Day 3 with a strong 186-run lead. Root also became the first cricketer to score over 1,000 Test runs at Old Trafford. Despite resistance from Indian bowlers, England’s dominant performance with the bat has pushed them closer to a series win.
