IndiGo to Add 10 International Destinations in the Next Year, Confirms CEO Pieter Elbers

New Delhi, May 30, 2025 — India’s largest airline, IndiGo, is gearing up for a significant international expansion, with plans to add 10 new international destinations over the next 12 months, CEO Pieter Elbers confirmed.

The new additions—stretching in all directions from India—will bring IndiGo’s international network to over 50 global destinations. Among the confirmed cities are London, Athens, Copenhagen, and Siem Reap, signaling IndiGo's strategic push into Europe and Southeast Asia.

In the domestic market, IndiGo plans to add four more stations to its network, increasing it from 91 to 95 destinations to every corner of the nation.

The airline is also taking a major leap into the long-haul travel segment, announcing non-stop flights from Mumbai to Manchester and Amsterdam, starting July 2025. These will be operated using damp-leased Boeing 787 aircraft, with additional long-haul routes to London and Copenhagen planned as more wide-body aircraft join the fleet later this year.

This move marks a pivotal shift for IndiGo, which has traditionally focused on short- to medium-haul routes. The expansion aligns with the airline’s broader ambition to become a major global player, leveraging India’s growing outbound travel demand.
