India swept the West Indies 2-0 in the Test series, with the final match being a seven-wicket victory at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. 

Head coach Gautam Gambhir praised Shubman Gill’s leadership, saying he has “ticked all the boxes.

Gambhir noted that Gill’s toughest test came during the England tour earlier, where India played five Tests over ~2½ months, against a strong side, with an inexperienced squad. Despite this, India drew the series 2-2 and Gill scored 754 runs. 

In the home Tests vs West Indies, Gill’s batting remained strong: he scored a hundred in the Delhi Test. 

Gambhir’s advice to Gill: “just be himself.
