Bharti Airtel Falls 3% on Large Block Deal, Rs 15,000 Crore Turnover on NSE
Bharti Airtel Ltd experienced a sharp decline of 2.92% on Friday, with shares falling to a low of Rs 1,812.50 on the National Stock Exchange (NSE). This decline trimmed the stock’s year-to-date gain to 14%.
A massive block trade triggered the selloff, with 3.1 crore Bharti Airtel shares—accounting for approximately 1.3% of the company’s equity—changing hands at Rs 1,820 per share. According to media reports, this deal generated an impressive turnover of Rs 15,000 crore within minutes on the NSE, reflecting significant market activity.
The large block deal indicates substantial investor movement in Bharti Airtel’s stock, which is closely watched by market participants given the company’s stature in the telecom sector.
