New Delhi, August 12, 2025 — India’s premier fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah is set to take the field for the Asia Cup 2025, scheduled from September 9 to 28 in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. The tournament will be played in the T20 format and will feature eight teams — India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Hong Kong, UAE, and Oman.

According to a PTI report, the 31-year-old speedster from Ahmedabad is likely to be rested after the Asia Cup to manage his workload, which means he could miss the first Test against West Indies in early October.

India and West Indies will play a two-match Test series, with the opening game set for October 2–6 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

Bumrah’s inclusion in the Asia Cup squad comes as a major boost for India’s pace attack, especially ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup next year. However, the BCCI is expected to rotate key bowlers given the packed international calendar.
